US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order directing the country to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO). The US is the largest funder of the global health agency headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. Trump has repeatedly criticised WHO for its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. The US has been a part of WHO since 1948.
