US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he will visit China in April 2026 on the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump, who had a telephone call with Jinping, said he also invited Xi to Washington for a state visit later in 2026. This comes after both the leaders met in South Korea's Busan in October.
