Dried softy ice-cream mix does not qualify as a dairy product as its major ingredient is sugar, Rajasthan's Authority for Advance Ruling (AAR) said, ruling that the product will attract 18% GST instead of 5%. The decision came as Alwar-based VRB Consumer Products Private Limited sought clarification on its 'Vanilla Mix'. Notably, AAR ruling is applicable only on the applicant.
