Santosh Maurya, younger brother of BJP district vice-president Dr. Pradeep Maurya, was shot dead in Chakia market, Chandauli, on Saturday morning. The accused, Devendra alias Prakash Jaiswal, allegedly intoxicated, had a heated argument with Santosh before returning with a double-barrel gun and firing at close range. Santosh was declared dead at the hospital.
