Earth's slowing rotation may have influenced the rise of oxygen in the atmosphere, a Nature Geoscience study stated. Earth's rotation has slowed down, lengthening the days due to the Moon's gravitational pull and impacting cyanobacteria's photosynthesis, which led to a rise in the production of oxygen. This in turn has created longer oxygen windows, increasing atmospheric oxygen, researchers said.
