Researchers, using luminescence dating, have determined the age of the colossal "Star dune" Lala Lallia in Morocco. The upper part formed in the last 1,000 years, with the base dating back 13,000 years. It grew by 6,400 metric tonnes annually for 900 years, paused for 8,000 years, and recently expanded rapidly.
