The Election Commission on Monday ordered the 'Special Revision' of electoral rolls in Assam. According to instructions issued by the EC, the qualifying date for the state to carry out the exercise is January 1, 2026. Reacting to it, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "This will help ensure clean, updated and accurate electoral rolls for all eligible citizens."
