The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday announced that it has begun delisting 345 registered unrecognised political parties (RUPPs) for not contesting any elections since 2019. The offices of these parties couldn't be physically located anywhere, it added. The ECI said over 2,800 such parties are registered, but many don't meet the conditions required to remain on the list.
