HMDA will distribute one lakh eco-friendly clay Ganesh idols across 34 locations in the Hyderabad city. The initiative aims to reduce pollution from plaster of Paris idols during immersions. HMDA has been quietly doing this since 2017, but the scale this year is bigger, with both fixed counters and vans moving into IT corridors, gated communities, and residential colonies.
