Laos is expanding the release of Wolbachia-infected mosquitoes to combat dengue after a successful 2022 pilot. The eco-friendly method reduces mosquitoes' ability to spread the virus and has gained strong public support. Cases dropped to 2,614 in early 2025 from 5,192 in 2024, with no dengue-related deaths reported this year.
