Eden Gardens pitch curator Sujan Mukherjee defended the pitch after India lost the first Test against South Africa inside three days. He said, "This pitch isn't bad at all....I know how to prepare...pitch for a Test. That's exactly what I did. I did it as instructed." He added, "I don't think about what others say. Not everyone knows everything."
