Educational institutes in J&K will remain closed on Thursday after heavy rainfall has triggered flood-like-situation across the Union Territory. Water level in rivers and streams is flowing above flood declaration mark in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions. The IMD on Wednesday said that 24-hour rainfall recorded in Jammu was 296mm, breaking a 52-year-old August rainfall record for the location.
