A controversy erupted in J&K after L-G Manoj Sinha's administration declared Eid-e-Milad-Un-Nabi holiday for Friday instead of Saturday, the day it will be observed in the region. Calling it "totally unjust", Minister Sakina Itoo said, "Eid-e-Milad...isn't observed as a holiday on the correct date in J-K. What does 'subject to appearance of the moon' mean if it is not followed?"
