The Election Commission has announced that Vice Presidential elections will take place on September 9, 2025. This comes days after Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned as VP, citing health reasons. Dhankhar's tenure was supposed to end in 2027. The Vice President is elected by an Electoral College comprising members of both the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha.
