Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed that European Union has undergone a "radical transformation" and is becoming an extension of NATO. He said that EU was initially formed as an economic union meant to make life better for its residents in a socio-economic sense. "EU is becoming an aggressive military-political bloc that is essentially a branch of NATO," he said.
