Chinese battery cell manufacturer and Volkswagen partner Gotion High-Tech and Michigan-based startup Our Next Energy (ONE) will open separate EV battery plants in Michigan. While Gotion's plant is expected to cost $2.36 billion and create 2,350 jobs in Big Rapids, ONE's $1.6 billion plant will create 2,100 jobs in Van Buren Township. Michigan will provide $237 million aid to ONE.
