Former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and his son Chaitanya Baghel have appealed to the Supreme Court, seeking the legal authority and jurisdiction of CBI and the ED in probing ₹2,160 crore liquor scam. This appeal follows Chaitanya's arrest by ED. Bhupesh Baghel criticised the arrest as politically motivated, stating, "ED is being used as a tool to target opposition leaders."
