Former CJI DY Chandrachud clarified his remark calling the "erection of the Babri Masjid a fundamental act of desecration", saying it was taken out of context. He said social media users selectively quoted parts of his interview and distorted his views. "People lift one part and combine it with another, removing context," Chandrachud said at the India Today Conclave.
