Former Union Minister of State and senior Congress leader Pradeep Jain Aditya and 13 others were sentenced to two years' imprisonment for a 2013 road blockade held to protest power cuts. All convicts were released on a personal bond after they were granted a month to appeal against the verdict. "We've been sentenced despite having permission to protest," Pradeep said.
