A new study showed that metabolites in common foods are linked to the risk of excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS), suggesting diet may influence the condition, while Omega fatty acids were linked with decreased EDS risk. Researchers analysed blood levels of 877 metabolites from 6,071 people. Metabolites linked with EDS were involved in steroid hormone biosynthesis, including cortisol production.
