While acquitting the accused persons in a case of circumstantial evidence, the Supreme Court has held that no reliance can be placed on extrajudicial confessions made in the police station before the police officers and various other people. The Apex Court was considering an appeal filed by the accused persons convicted in an alleged case of murder.
