In Thane, a self-styled godman was arrested for allegedly duping a family of ₹2.7 lakh in cash and gold. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Prakash Gaikwad, the accused claimed expertise in rituals to cure the husband of his drinking habit and cleanse their house of evil spirits. Police seized ₹94,000 and 12 grams of jewellery from the accused.
