A father's exposure to passive smoking in childhood may impair his children's lifelong lung function, increasing their risk of COPD, a new study found. This risk rises further if the children are also exposed to passive smoking, it added. Researchers analysed data from 890 father-child pairs, noting that smoking may harm lung function in smokers, their children, and their grandchildren.
