BJP leader and actress Smriti Irani revealed her father was furious when he learned about her Miss India selection. She said he asked his assistant to accompany her. "He said, 'Go with Smriti, she'll lose...get her...home'," Smriti said. She added that she kept winning the rounds and the assistant had to call her father to say, "This kid ain't failing."
