Expectations for a December Fed rate cut jumped after NY Fed President John Williams said there is room for further adjustment to policy. The CME FedWatch tool now shows a 70.9% chance of a 25-basis-point cut, up from 39.1% a day earlier. Williams emphasised returning inflation to 2% without jeopardising employment.
