Female treefrogs favour faster, regular mating calls, but struggle to choose the best mate in crowded environments, according to a study by Assistant Professor Jessie Tanner from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The dense choruses make decision-making difficult, as "females might not always get what they want." The research showed unattractive males benefit from 'choice overload'.
