The internal rift within the ruling Congress in Telangana intensified on 15 October when police arrived at the residence of Endowments and Environment Minister Konda Surekha in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, to detain her former Officer on Special Duty, Sumanth. The minister and her daughter objected to the police presence, and in a defiant move, she left the premises with Sumanth in her vehicle.
