On July 2, Indonesia commissioned its first Italian-built offshore patrol vessel, KRI Brawijaya (320), at Fincantieri’s Muggiano shipyard. Initially intended for the Italian Navy as ITS Marcantonio Colonna, the multi-purpose Pattugliatore Polivalente d’Altura (PPA) will now serve under Indonesia’s Second Fleet Command in Surabaya. Brawijaya is the first of two such ships acquired by Indonesia.
