Kerala Police has registered an FIR against the global Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) in the case of its Liberia-flagged ship MSC ELSA 3 capsizing off the state's coast on May 24. The FIR states that the ship master and crew handled the vessel carrying dangerous and combustible cargo negligently, causing its sinking which adversely affected the environment and coastal communities.
