The European Space Agency's Proba-3 mission has created the first-ever artificial solar eclipse in space. The mission's two satellites, Coronagraph and Occulter, flew 150 metres apart in perfect formation with millimetre accuracy for several hours to create the eclipse. Occulter blocked the Sun's disk to cast a shadow onto Coronagraph's ASPIICS instrument, which captured images of solar corona.
