The first-ever photograph of Sun's south pole captured by European Space Agency's Solar Orbiter spacecraft has been released. The photograph was taken between March 16 and 17 with Solar Orbiter's Polarimetric and Helioseismic Imager (PHI), Extreme Ultraviolet Imager (EUI), and Spectral Imaging of Coronal Environment (SPICE) instruments. "It’s a wonderful achievement," ESA's Carole Mundell said.
