India's fiscal deficit in first nine months of 2024 hit ₹9.14 lakh crore, or 56.7% of annual estimates, Controller General of Accounts said. This was slightly higher than 55% fiscal deficit noted in same period in 2024. Total receipts were worth ₹23.18 lakh crore while overall expenditure was at ₹32.32 lakh crore, 72.3% and 67% of FY25 budget targets.
