Meghalaya will regain five villages from Assam under a new MoU expected by August 15, said Cabinet Minister Paul Lyngdoh. The villages fall under Ri-Bhoi district. This forms part of the ongoing border dispute resolution. Talks are advancing, with Langpih awaiting joint inspection. The states earlier resolved six of 12 disputed areas in a phased approach.
