Two people in Louisiana have died after consuming raw oysters contaminated with flesh-eating bacteria. The bacterium Vibrio vulnificus occurs in warm coastal waters and is more common between May and October. Experts say it can lead to illness when an open wound gets exposed to contaminated waters or when a person eats raw or undercooked seafood.
