Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday chaired the first pre-budget consultation with leading economists for the upcoming Union Budget 2026-27. The meeting was also attended by the Department of Economic Affairs' Secretary, Chief Economic Adviser and other senior officials from the Finance Ministry. Sitharaman will present her ninth consecutive Budget in the Parliament in February.
