Arunachalam Vellayan, former Chairman of the Murugappa Group and Chairman Emeritus of Coromandel International, has passed away at the age of 72 after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife Lalitha Vellayan, sons Arun Vellayan and Narayanan Vellayan, and grandchildren. Vellayan led the Indian Sugar Mills Association and was the Chairman of the Board of Governors of IIM-Kozhikode.
