France's data watchdog issued fines against Google and fast-fashion platform Shein for breaching internet cookies law. Google is fined $381 million for improperly displaying ads to Gmail users and using cookies, both without account holders' consent. Shein received a $175 million fine as it collected "massive" volumes of data via cookies placed on 12 million monthly users' devices in France.
