French authorities have launched a criminal investigation into Elon Musk-owned X over the alleged manipulation of its algorithm, and alleged "fraudulent data extraction", the social media platform said. The authorities demanded access to X's recommendation algorithm and real-time data about all user posts. X has denied the "politically-motivated" allegations, saying it'd not comply with the probe.
