Panjit Basumatary, a veterinarian from Assam, has spent over 20 years rescuing over 3,000 animals across 250 species, from pets to wild animals like rhinos and clouded leopards. He once saved a tigress with tumours and now leads India's only Asiatic black bear rehabilitation centre. He was also awarded prestigious Animal Welfare Field Veterinary Award at 24th IFAW in London.
