G4 Foreign Ministers (Brazil, Germany, India, Japan) met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly on Thursday. In a joint statement, the countries emphasised the urgent need to reform the UN Security Council. They called for expanding both permanent and non-permanent memberships to enhance representativeness and legitimacy. The countries also supported each other's bids for permanent membership.
