After first India-South Africa Test finished in three days, India head coach Gautam Gambhir's old comments resurfaced. "Playing on turning tracks is fine, but I won't appreciate Test matches finishing in two and a half days. We want to see tight finishes...Two and a half days is too short," Gambhir had said following Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2023.
