Tensions flared in Nepal as people protested the recent decision by KP Sharma Oli's government to ban major social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and X. The protesters, mobilised by Gen Z activists, also entered the country's parliament, and police fired tear gas, water cannons and rubber bullets. Protesters called the decision to ban platforms an act of censorship.
