German airline Lufthansa will cut 4,000 jobs by 2030, as it seeks to boost efficiency through digitalisation and automation, the firm said. The layoffs, most of them being in Germany, will affect administrative roles rather than operational positions such as pilots, cabin crew or ground staff. This comes at a time when Germany is facing its second year of recession.
