GlobalFoundries announced the acquisition of Singapore-based silicon photonics foundry Advanced Micro Foundry (AMF), calling it a key step in advancing AI data-center technology. AMF is expected to generate over $75 million in 2026 and be accretive to margins from day one. Despite the deal, GlobalFoundries shares slipped premarket and remain down 23% year-to-date.
