It is believed goddess Kanak Durga herself cooks meal offered to her by Chilkigarh royal family in West Bengal’s Jhargram. As per folklore, on Ashtami night, royal priest fills earthen pot with water, sacrificial meat and ingredients & keeps it on wooden stove in a secluded room in jungle. Room is locked and reopened next morning when meal is ready.
