A major attraction of the almost 450-year-old Puja of Bhattacharya family in Canning, South 24 Parganas district near Kolkata is that the burnt form of Goddess Durga’s idol is traditionally worshipped here. As per family members, once the Durga idol was charred after her temple caught fire, following which every year Durga idol is worshipped as 'Pora Mukhi' (burnt face).
