Economist Ed Yardeni has said he expects gold prices to climb to $5,000 levels (per ounce) by end of 2026 and potentially reach $10,000 (over ₹8,87,000) by 2028. This would mean 10 gram of gold would cost ₹3.1 lakh as one ounce is equivalent to 28 gram. Yardeni said central banks are increasing percentage of their international reserves in gold.
