Global gold prices crossed $3,900/ounce (₹3.46 lakh/28 grams) for the first time on Monday on safe-haven demand amid US government shutdown and expectations of additional Federal Reserve rate cuts. Gold prices in India rose too ahead of Diwali. MCX Gold December futures crossed ₹1,19,000/10 grams. As per Indian Bullion Association, 24-carat gold price crossed ₹1,19,000/10 gm on Monday.
