Following the announcement, gold prices in India opened flat at 0.07% at ₹1,00,250 per 10 grams, down ₹2,000 from their lifetime high of ₹1,02,250 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, gold prices in US marked their steepest single-day percentage drop in three months, falling 2.5% to settle at $3,404.70 per ounce.
