NASA and Google unveiled an AI-medical assistant to keep astronauts healthy during Mars and other space missions. It is named 'Crew Medical Officer Digital Assistant (CMO-DA)', and it runs on Google Cloud's Vertex AI platform as a multimodal system that processes speech, text and images. It showed diagnostic accuracy rates of 88% for ankle injuries and 80% for ear pain.
